PR is not just for celebrities

PR is not just for celebrities! Why you deserve the spotlight too

When most people think of PR, they picture red carpets, Hollywood smiles and someone famous looking fabulous on a breakfast sofa.

And I get it - for years, PR has been packaged as something reserved for the elite. The influencers, the household names, the ones with 'your people speak to my people' behind them!

Celebrities have long understood the power of PR - not just for staying in the spotlight, but for shaping their narrative, showcasing their talents and increasing their perceived value. It’s one of the key reasons their influence grows, even when they’re not actively selling anything.

But the truth is that PR isn't just for celebrities. It’s for YOU - the expert who’s worked hard to build something brilliant but feels like the best-kept secret.

Let me guess. You’ve been showing up. You’ve been sharing value. You’ve probably posted more than your fair share of reels, blogs and carousels. But deep down, you’re thinking:

“Why is no one paying attention? I know I can help people - so why does it feel like I’m shouting into the void?”

  • It’s not your offer.

  • It’s not your worth.

  • It’s not even your content.

It’s your visibility. And that’s where PR changes everything.

PR builds trust faster than any funnel ever could

Here’s something I say to my clients all the time:
When someone else talks about you - it hits differently.

It’s not just you saying, “I’m good at what I do.”
It’s a respected platform saying, “You need to know about this person.”

That’s third-party credibility. And in today’s crowded market, it’s pure gold.

When you're quoted in an article, interviewed on a podcast or featured in a national paper - something shifts. People see you differently. Suddenly, you’re not trying to be the go-to expert. You are the go-to expert.

But here's what no one tells you...

You don’t need a publicist. You don’t need to be famous. You don’t need to wait for someone to “discover” you.

You just need to know how to:

✔️ Find the stories in your everyday work
✔️ Pitch those stories to the right people
✔️ Position yourself so that journalists and clients chase you

And yes - you already have the content and credibility. You just need the strategy.

Visibility isn’t about doing more - It’s about doing it differently

If you’re like most of the brilliant business owners I meet, you’re not lacking in experience, passion or ideas. What’s missing is the visibility strategy that connects all those dots and turns them into authority.

You don’t need more qualifications. You don’t need to post more on social. You don’t even need a brand-new story.

What you do need is a way to recognise the value in what you already know, shape it into newsworthy angles and share it with the right people - confidently, clearly and without the cringe.

It’s about learning how to:

  1. Translate your expertise into stories that land

  2. Pitch in a way that feels authentic and gets a response

  3. Build a reputation that naturally attracts both media and clients

This isn’t about self-promotion for the sake of it. It’s about being known for what you do best so that trust builds faster, opportunities come to you and your message reaches the people who need it most. Ultimately its about growing your business.
